Arun lost by one wicket.

A thrilling game, which saw both Graham Rees (dislocated finger) and Mark Rose (suspected broken ribs) in A+E, Worthing, ended in a narrow victory for Salthill.

Chris Staight and Graham put on 53 for the first wicket, but then we lost five wickets for three runs, Chris having retired hurt on 22, suffering from recurrence of a back problem. Skipper Laurie Mellor then shepherded the tail to something approaching respectability.

We bowled and fielded superbly (Patrick Atherton 3 for 30) and the team can be very proud of their performance in adversity. We never gave up and could so easily have won
